Recent Security & Privacy Upgrades

Email Security Upgrades

April 11, 2022 | Updated: April 20, 2022

Over 90% of breaches result from email phishing attacks

For years Florida Sound has invested in email security for our employee and customer privacy and protection. Our current email security exceeds most small to medium size businesses. However, we aren't satisfied with that. Threat actors are constantly looking for ways to bypass security measures or manipulate our employees. And we are always looking for ways to counter or prevent a compromise.

We are happy to announce that a major upgrade to our email system has been completed. Other enhancements will be applied progressively.

Active Malware Scanning

April 11, 2022

Floridasound.com has active malware scanning

To better protect our customers and reputation, we have recently added active malware scanning to our website. This also includes monitoring Google Safe Browsing. Our multifaceted approach shows our commitment to your privacy and protection.

Better Bot Management

April 11, 2022

Floridasound.com is "visited" by thousands of bots each day (see screenshot below)

Bots can be good, like legitimate search and security providers. But many are bombarding our site looking for a way to steal information or compromise our systems for other nefarious activities. This can cause a lethargic website, privacy concerns, receiving contact form spam, or even ransomware attacks.

FS Bot Report - Screen Shot

Our website has fought these off on specific pages with an obvious 5-second security check. Now we have found a balanced solution on other parts of our site that isn't as disruptive and lets the good bots through - and keeps most of the bad ones out. Bad robot!🤖

Cloudflare CDN/Firewall

October 17, 2020

We chose Cloudflare for the following reasons:

To better protect your privacy as Cloudflare is a privacy-focused company

To better filter dangerous bots and reduce cyber threats

To only allow access via SSL (https://) for your protection

To require SSL connections meet a realistic minimum of TLS1.2 for your data protection

To improve website page speed load times using CDN technology

Microsoft Analytics

November 1, 2020

Google is the de facto standard when it comes to web analytics. But the manner in which they obtain that information makes us cringe a bit. Therefore we have dropped Google Analytics for Microsoft Clarity Analytics. While Clarity is new and very limited, it meets GDPR standards and keeps user information anonymous, only giving the Country location of the user.

Although this change is limiting from a business perspective, this is the right decision because:

It focuses on the privacy of our visitors and customers

It allows us to sleep a little easier at night 😊💤

How many letters in the word SOUND?

Design | AV System Integration

AUDIOVISUAL DESIGN WITH YOU IN MIND

Puzzled at the prospect of finding the right company to handle your design needs?

Before a system is installed, it has to be designed. A properly designed audiovisual system can make the difference between dull and muddled or bright and clear. Sound systems especially are affected by the acoustics of a room. If that isn’t taken into account, you can throw all the money and premium electronic gadgets at a job, and you will still not achieve the clarity of a less expensive system that has been properly designed. Even things like air conditioning systems can affect the intelligibility of a sound system.

If you are in the market for a new audiovisual system, make sure that it is properly designed before any equipment is ever proposed, let alone installed. We can help make the pieces fit.
